She had nothing to eat. Starved, trembling in the cold, yet she waited for days in the same place, hoping her owner would come back.
A mother dog, reduced to skin and bones, still used her fragile body to shield her puppies from the biting cold. The rusted iron chain around her neck was the only thing left from the life she once knew a silent witness to her loyalty.
She didn’t understand that they had been abandoned. She only knew to wait. Because love, for her, meant staying no matter how much it hurt.

It is with great sadness that we announce that passing of K9 Brico from our Narcotics Division. Loved by his partner, and feared by drug dealers across Florida, K9 Brico was one of the longest-serving police canines in the state, with nearly 12 years of service. Over his remarkable career, he served alongside three partners, helping seize 688 lbs of narcotics and more than $875,000 in illicit proceeds. His exceptional skill led to over 150 search warrants and hundreds of arrests. Every morning, K9 Brico waited eagerly by the door, ready to work. His drive to hunt narcotics was only surpassed by his love for tennis balls. 🎾K9 Brico’s dedication and loyalty will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his family, his pack, and all of us at PBSO. 🐾

🚨UPDATE: K-9 Roam
"Roam made it through surgery yesterday. They had to remove his left rear leg to help control the bleeding. Thank you to all the agencies and civilians that brought their dogs in or offered to, so that we could test them for blood so Roam could get all the much needed blood he had lost. Roam did well overnight. His heart rate and blood pressure were good and his labs were good. He has been lifting his head and looking around and has wagged his tail some! He's still not out of the woods so keep him in your prayers! Again thank you to all the out pouring of love, food, texts, prayers, etc. Thank you to the ER staff that kicked ass to give Roam the best shot he's got! Roam will keep fighting!"
