Starting a business and going for your dreams is scary, but there is something I’ve learned: ALL entrepreneurs feel fear. Many of us feel like we aren’t equipped for the job and that we’ll be “found out” for the imposters that we are. Fortunately, by following a few principles--and having the right tools--we CAN be courageous and make that first step and continue to walk the path of the brave. (Hint: one of those tools is QuickBooks Payments, which helps me get paid quicker and speed up my cash flow.)
Later this month, I’ll be hosting an #AskTheExpert series with Intuit QuickBooks to talk in depth about some of the things I learned in my own journey that have helped me break out of that oh-so-insidious imposter syndrome and jump in heart first.

In many ways, we could be considered crazy to open a food concept during a pandemic. While many storefronts were shuttering, we decided to double down on our mission to feed our community healthy, convenient food and open our first permanent @bonberimart, a plant-based grab-and-go store in July of 2020. Though certainly daunting and not without its challenges, I continue to believe it was the right decision. On November 12, I'll be chatting with Intuit QuickBooks on their #AskTheExpert series to talk shifting business during an ever-changing landscape from setting up in-house deliveries, expanding community online and IRL and tailoring offerings to what customers want and need the most--namely, healthy, nourishing, indulgent food. Bin Dae Tteok! Also known as savory mung bean pancakes. Surprisingly naturally vegan and gluten free. My favorite thing growing up and now my littles ☺️ recipe below (for my fave the spicy kimchi version search on bonberi.com) :

1 cup of split mung beans (yellow split peas work as well) soaked for 4 hours or overnight
Avocado oil
Thinly sliced kale
Thinly sliced onion
Thinly sliced bell pepper
Scallion
Basically any veg you want
Salt and pepper
Toasted Sesame oil
Dipping sauce:
2 parts Tamari
1 part Rice vinegar
1/2 part Toasted sesame oil

Strain soaked mung beans. In a food processor blend until beans form a thick batter you may need to add a little water but not necessary and better if you don’t. Season w salt and pepper and a teaspoon of sesame oil. Blend again. Heat pan and coat w a little avocado oil. On medium high heat form a mini pancake about two spoons full and flatten on pan. Add some of the sliced veg but not too much. Leave on medium high heat for about 3-4 min until browned and flip. Same amount of time until browned and crispy on both sides. May need to do both sides for another minute or two. Transfer to plate. Slice into quarters and dip into sauce and serve w greens! For spicy kimchi version (my personal fave), recipe on bonberi.com

When there’s no time for anything else..kitchen sink salad! Not much of a recipe, just toss everything in the fridge is a bowl and toss! But this mix happened to be pretty stellar ✨ On how to combine legumes like lentils and chickpeas..they’re both a starch and protein so I say they go both ways ;) Recipe-ish below:
Arugula
Shredded Carrot
Shaved fennel
Cucumbers
Sheep feta
Garbanzo beans
+
Lazy lentil salad:
Brown lentils
Vegan mayo
Dried dill
Onion powder
Apple cider vinegar
Tamari sauce
Black pepper
+
1 tablespoon olive oil

My all time favorite summer side. Cole slaw Bonberi-fied of course and made vegan with a dash of coconut sugar and apple cider vinegar and some fresh herbs, full recipe below 👇





1 small head of green cabbage
1 small head red cabbage
2 large carrots, peeled
1 small bunch parsley
1 small bunch cilantro
1/4 cup vegan mayo
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon coconut sugar
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
Black pepper

Thinly slice cabbage and toss in large bowl. Using a julienne peeler, shred carrot into thin strips. Finely chop herbs and toss into large bowl. In a small bowl, combine vegan mayo, vinegar, celery salt, pepper and coco sugar. Whisk until blended. Mix dressing into cabbage and carrot mixture until somewhat creamy. Serve! Channeling Studio 54 to celebrate @somethingnavy 's bday bash tonight! When it comes to going out, balance and preparation are majorly key. The day of, I make sure I drink tons of green juice and water throughout the day to bloat alkalinity and hydration, eat a hearty green salad and whole grains before leaving for the party (the more filling the better) and my cocktail of choice is @casamigos tequila on the rocks with club soda and tons of limes that I nurse all night w tons of water. The next day I load up on super hydrating foods like raw coco water and fruit 💃🏻🍹🌃 💚#healthytips #healthyhacks #wellness #balance #liveclean

This grain, oil and nut free pesto pasta salad using @eatbanza chickpea shells and shaved raw zucchini is pretty much all we want to eat right now. 😋🌱Recipe 👇





1 box of @Banza chickpea pasta
1 large zucchini, thinly sliced or shaved on mandolin
Pesto sauce:
1 cup of fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup of fresh Italian parsley
2 cloves of smashed garlic
1/4 cup of raw sheep pecorino cheese
1/4 cup of cold filtered water
Juice of 1 lemon
Sea salt and black pepper to taste

In a blender or food processor, combine all pesto ingredients and blend until creamy. You may need to add more water to get a more liquid creamy consistency. Set aside. Cook pasta as directed. Drain and transfer to a large bowl. Add shaved zucchini and toss in pesto sauce. Serve warm or cold!

Summer days call for summer salads like this Mexican chop with creamy cumin paprika dressing. Recipe below ☀️☀️☀️






1 head romaine, thinly slice
4 radishes, chopped
1 large cucumber, chopped
1 orange or red bell pepper, chopped
1 jalapeño, deseeded and chopped
1 bunch of fresh cilantro, chopped
1/2 cup of chickpeas
1/2 avocado, chopped
1 large carrot, shaved into ribbons or shredded

Dressing:
2 tablespoons vegan mayo (sir kensingtons or veganaise)
Juice of 1 line
1/4 teaspoons ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground paprika
Dash of ground garlic and ground onion
Sea salt and pepper to taste
4-6 tablespoons of ice cold water to thin out dressing

Combine all salad ingredients in large bowl. Whisk together dressing ingredients until creamy. You may need to add a little more water. Toss in dressing and serve!
