Growing up Muslim in the UK came with its fair share of unique experiences. From being given ‘nicknames’ by teachers that missed the mark, to singing Christian hymns in assembly, and being labeled a vegetarian because halal wasn’t an option in the lunch hall.It’s a story of navigating identity and culture as a child—and how those moments shaped me today. Anyone else have similar experiences growing up?
