These role models overcame a variety of obstacles and adversity with dignity and grace, throughout their careers in print and electronic media and these same women have successfully risen to the top of their game while giving back to their communities and setting a positive example. This is a wonderful time in history to acknowledge the leaders inthis industry

; women that have taken a public presence in society by addressing diversity issues that have affected us all in one way or another. They have brought us information and shared content that at times may not have been pleasant or popular, but still advocated the need for awareness. These women exemplify courage and a commitment to education even at the risk of their own livelihood for the sake of the truth being told.
