Today’s featured storyteller is Belizean author Zee Edgell. Zee worked as a journalist, serving as the founding editor of The Reporter. She has traveled extensively, living for extended periods of time in Jamaica, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Somalia and working with development organizations the the Peace Corps. She was a director of women’s affairs for the government of Belize, lecturer at the former University College of Belize (forerunner to the University of Belize), and an associate professor at Kent State University, where she taught creative writing and literature. She tours internationally, giving book readings and delivering papers on the history and literature of Belize. She is considered to be Belize’s most renowned contemporary writer.

Today’s featured storyteller and culture creator is Phelicia Dell! Felicia is a member of Vital Voices Haiti affiliate, Femmes En Démocratie. She is widely recognized inside and outside Haiti as a preeminent artisan and fashion designer through her brand vèvè Collections. In 2009, she was selected as the Emerging Handbag Designer by Vital Voices Board Member Diane von Furstenberg in a global competition sponsored by von Furstenberg. Selena’s film Taboo Yardies - The Documentary examines how Jamaica’s socio-economic and sociopolitical environment allows for violence against gay, le***an, and transgender people.
