Jordey is back and gets to experience the sights and sounds of the holiday season in his home and New York City. The movie is a follow up to Jordey's original short film, and this story would not be complete without another visit from his rival The Burglar who tries to steal all of the Christmas spirit from this cute and lovable dog. The movie was shot pre-pandemic in November/December 2019 and finally edited in 2023 right before Jordey's passing on September 6, 2023. Jordey is very much missed, but there couldn't be a better way to honor his memory than seeing him work his magic one more time in this Christmas film.

Our , TOP HATE, was Awarded Best Feature Film/Best Of Fest at The Indie Gathering International Film Festival yesterday.

While the movie has been seeing recognition, this festival has always held a special place in our heart being in and being the first that recognized our first short years ago. The has always had a special feel with a great vibe and great people. We always look forward to being there. We had such an overwhelming feeling when we learned this news, and we're humbled and honored that the picture has been recognized in this way and by this particular festival. Thank you, and Congratulations to all of the cast and crew!

Sidney Lumet rehearsed for two to three weeks before every film he directed.

In 'Making Movies' (1995), Lumet wrote that rehearsal lets the director discover what actors will bring to their parts and lets actors discover what the director is after. He staged full run-throughs with the cast around a table, then on their feet, blocking every scene before the crew arrived. '12 Angry Men,' 'Dog Day Afternoon' and 'Network' were all shaped in those rooms before a single frame was exposed.

The prep is where the film gets made. The set is where you collect it.

Robert Rodriguez was his own crew on 'El Mariachi' in 1992.

He shot, lit, recorded sound, directed actors and edited the film on a borrowed 16mm camera with a budget of $7,000, most of it earned as a medical test subject. In 'Rebel Without a Crew' (1995), Rodriguez wrote that knowing every department's job meant he never waited on anyone and never wasted a setup. The film was acquired by Columbia Pictures, which funded a 35mm transfer, before winning the prestigious Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival.

The rule has not changed: the less money you have, the more jobs you do.

David Mamet put it plainly in 'On Directing Film' (1991).

The director's real work is constructing the shot list from the script. The set is ex*****on. Mamet argued that every shot should answer one question: what is the character doing in this beat? Not what is the character feeling, not what looks interesting, but what uninflected physical action tells this beat of the story. If the shot list is right, the coverage shoots itself. If it is wrong, no amount of improvisation on the day will save it.

Build the list. Shoot the list. Trust the list.
