It's funny looking back on records I've worked on, the things you remember and the things you forget. On this record I only remember recording the break in this song. Steve Gadd on drums, somehow Steve plays that 16thish note feel cowbell in the break, at first ok but then he comes back in with the drum kit while still playing the pattern on the cowbell. I had to stand up to see if i could see his hands. I couldn't believe he was doing it. There is a cowbell overdub thats just accents, and congas but the main pattern he is playing with the kit live. That and dinner at an excellent J*panese restaurant, I went back many time, but what ever they served us with Sadao Wantanabe present, wasn't on the menu.

I recorded and mixed this some years ago. Alan Childs Drums, Carmine Rojas Bass, Chuck Kentis synth, Justin Clayton and the great David Brown on guitars. ( Solo is David through a synclav audio to midi with about 100ms delay to a DX7 with Harmonica patch) Recorded at Compass Point Bahamas, Mixed at the Hit Factory NY, Mastered by Ted Jensen. Crazy but in their own way great times.

If you want to be really miserable. Spend two weeks video editing in DaVinci Resolve using a bunch of shortcut keys, then go back to Pro Tools music mixing and watch your fingers do all the wrong things. Constantly. Muscle memory is a crazy thing.😔😔
