A man identified as Xihlamariso Rinhlamfu from Selwane was arrested by Lulekani police on Monday, 15 June 2026, at approximately 00:00.

According to police information, he was arrested on charges of theft by false pretences and possession of suspected stolen property.

It is alleged that the suspect targeted women around Phalaborwa by posing as a person who had received a payout from the Road Accident Fund (RAF). He allegedly created fake Facebook accounts using false identities and contacted women through social media.

Police further allege that he would impersonate people known to the victims, including former classmates, and arrange meetings at various locations. Victims were then allegedly robbed of their cellphones and other valuables.

At the time of his arrest, police reportedly found him in possession of two cellphones believed to be linked to the investigation.

Polokwane, Limpopo – Fans of Limpopo rapper Shebeshxt have voiced strong anger online after reports that TV host Jub Jub was granted bail during a holiday-period, in a court session held behind closed doors, while Shebeshxt has reportedly been denied bail four times.

The frustration spread quickly on social media over the past 24 hours. Supporters argue that Jub Jub, who has previous convictions, was released on bail, while Shebeshxt, who has not been convicted of any offense prior to his current case, remains in custody.

“Shebeshxt was denied bail four times already. Jub Jub is a convicted criminal who was released on bail,” one fan posted on X. “We want Shebeshxt released immediately. This doesn’t make sense.”

Similar posts using Shebeshxt’s name and calls for his immediate release have been trending, with many fans questioning the consistency of bail decisions between the two cases. Some have also raised concerns about a “secret court” sitting during the holiday, though court authorities have not released details on the proceedings.

Bail decisions in South Africa are made by magistrates based on factors including flight risk, likelihood to interfere with witnesses, and the nature of charges. Each case is assessed on its own facts and evidence, and previous convictions can be considered by the court.
