Film Drop: Globe
Created in May 2022 for Satellite Collective’s Rouge Film Unit Globe is a dance film exploring the dichotomy of containment and permeability of the body. Created by Mio Ishikawa, Olga Rabetskaya, Carlos Cardona and Tushrik Fredericks, Globe uses multiple mediums to highlight the effort to listen to the transaction between internal shifts and our external being.

GivingTuesday reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity. We believe in practicing ‘the act of taking care’ locally in our bodies and globally as a collective. Your donation will enable us to create spaces for audiences to find community where BODYSONNET artists share their work, with a common mission to show up at the theatre for a shared experience, and speak about an issue or people we care about through our first language, dance.

Join us at ArtPrize for an outdoor performance, taking place at Rosa Parks Circle this Friday, October 1 at 7 p.m. You can find us on the stage to the right of the GRAM. Company dancers are delighted to perform two works, including the in-person world premiere of Point of You, choreographed by James Sofranko that was re-worked specifically for ArtPrize, and Echo and Narcissus, choreographed by Norbert De La Cruz. Hosted by Robertson, curator fellow via Satellite Collective.

S/O to Paul Amenta and Ted Lott on the ArtPrize announcement! Looking forward the collab this fall!
Paul Amenta and Ted Lott, in collaboration with DisArt, will create a site-specific architectural intervention and built environment that will address issues of accessibility in both form and function. The project will re imagine the site by temporarily transforming a private space into a fully accessible public space for the duration of Project 1 by ArtPrize. The project will serve as an armature facilitating dynamic programming and community engagement—functioning as a stage for Disability art events, a platform for local artists, and a social gathering space for the community. In addition SiTE:LAB will assist in activating the space by engaging local talent and partnering with local organizations, including Brewery Vivant, Grand Rapids Soul Club, KBOgroup, Kyd Kane Poetry, Lora Robertson, Not Design, Satellite Collective, SideCar Studios, SuperDre, West Michigan Center for Arts & Technology (WMCAT), and more to be announced...
