The American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) is a non-profit professional organization for editors of print and online magazines that are edited, published and distributed in the U.S. Established in 1963, ASME currently has more than 850 members nationwide. ASME works to preserve editorial independence and speaks out on public policy issues, especially those pertaining to the First Amendment. The course will be held July 21-26, 2019, at the Yale School of Management (SOM) in New Haven, Connecticut. The deadline to apply for the ASME scholarship is April 7, 2019. The Ellie Awards 2019 Call for Entries is now posted at ellieawards.org. Notable changes include the introduction of an award for podcasting as well as new categories for service and lifestyle publications.

The deadline for entry for content published before November 1, 2018, is Tuesday, November 13, 2018. The deadline for entry for content published on or after November 1, 2018, is Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Entry fees in most categories are $295 for ASME members and $395 for nonmembers. To join ASME, email [email protected] or download a membership application.

In 2019, ASME will celebrate the National Magazine Awards for Print and Digital Media in a new place and at a new time. The 54th Ellie Awards will be presented at Brooklyn Steel on Frost Street in Williamsburg. The party begins at 5:30 on Thursday, March 14, 2019. Tickets go on sale February 7.
