Today we honor the original stewards of this continent, from the Lenape and Haudenosaunee in the north, to the Taíno of the Caribbean, to the many nations across what we now call Latin America.

Indigenous peoples have survived colonization, resisted erasure, and continue to lead movements for land, language, and liberation.
Their stories are not history, they’re present, and future.

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we listen, uplift, and remember:
We are on sacred ground.

From barrio beats to the biggest stage in the world.
Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl halftime show isn’t just a win for music — it’s a win for cultura. It’s proof that our voices, our stories, our language belong everywhere.

At VOZ NYC, we celebrate that power every day.

✨ VOZ SPOTLIGHT: Cantoras by Carolina De Robertis

Set during the Uruguayan dictatorship of the 1970s, Cantoras tells the story of five q***r women who find sanctuary in each other, and in a secret stretch of coast they call their own.

Romina, Flaca, La Venus, Paz, and Malena are cantoras, women who sing, and through decades of dictatorship, exile, heartbreak, and desire, they create their own revolution.

A breathtaking novel about q***r love, found family, resistance, and survival.

A must-read. A masterpiece.

A moment we’ll never forget.
We launched Your English is Great, But... surrounded by comunidad, music, books, and so much cariño at the historic Moravian Book Shop — the oldest bookstore in America.

This wasn’t just a reading.
It was a reminder that our stories belong in rooms like this.
In print. In public. In power.

Gracias to everyone who showed up, listened, and shared a piece of themselves with us.

This is VOZ. And we’re just getting started.

LA CURANDERA
For the mujeres who heal in silence.
For the ones who carry herbs and heartbreak.
Who light candles, boil teas, burn sage, and still show up strong.

This tote is an homage to ancestral wisdom, intuition, and the kind of power that doesn’t need permission.

LATINO ICONS, NUESTRA MANERA
This Monday, we honor: Walter Mercado —
A healer. A showman. A spiritual tío.
A walking universe who gave Latin America daily doses of hope, glam, and unconditional love.

He was unapologetically soft in a world that demanded toughness.
Unapologetically himself in a culture that didn’t always know where to place someone like him.
But he didn’t need placement — he created his own constellation.

“Mucho, mucho amor.”
Always.
