It's New Music Friday! And we are daydreaming on the “Elevator” - a bubbly funk / electronic soul jam out today (19 Feb 2021) on all streaming platforms.

"Elevator" is a new electronic soul/funk/R&B single from Sierra Classic Sound that tells of a daydreaming office worker (remember going to an office? 😅 ) - racing late to catch a Manhattan elevator, yet ‘right on time’ — as he transposes NYC's skyscrapers for tall California redwood trees in his reverie. Ten years ago this month, we sat down for lunch with of to discuss bringing back the songs of Pittsburgh’s from 30ish years prior (1981-1983). Little did we know that by January 2011, in a snowstorm-covered Lower East Side of Manhattan rehearsal space () - that 10 people would gather together to make that dream a reality. Thanks to for the introduction, we were able to play two shows with a 11 to 13 person group in Manhattan and Brooklyn that summer of 2011. This vinyl album you see here is the document of that revival / reboot of that is now on sale on our page. Onward!

To all our friends of Sierra Classic Sound - here in this new-smelling vehicle called 2020, we’re busily making plans to finish the rest of the songs on our debut album. Work starts next week on breaking down the 8 to 10 existing demos to their basic tracks and building them up again - stronger 💪, better✨, (and sometimes) faster🏃🏽‍♂️!

Our YouTube Channel is going strong - with our two animated videos (“The Light at 99th” and “Elevator”) combining for more than 500,000 views! (Hey, HALF A MILLION is always welcome!) That said, we are ONLY 9 SUBSCRIBERS AWAY from our first 100 subscribers (!) - which is the threshold that YouTube sets for getting our own custom URL (with our name in it - so official-like, you know?).
