Amazing!! Proud of Youth Equality Center - YEC for all their amazing work!!
Our Digital Program does more than making young people more employable – it empowers them and gives them the confidence to deal with many facets of life. Uganda’s education system is grossly inadequate as it does not prepare students to cope with real time life challenges, instead it places emphasis on fact storage and memorization. The system turns out people who are submissive, a poor guise for discipline rather than encouraging inquisitive and innovative minds. Our digital program, therefore aims at enabling students to discover their purpose in life and equip them with the creativity necessary for providing solutions to the challenges facing society in addition to offering them practical, hands-on education, leadership and employment in journalism, arts, technology and SRHR information and services. Who's the best person to tell your organization's story? You!
Many Ugandan social enterprises do not have the massive budget to have a full-time communications manager. Yet, in today's digital world, entrepreneurs must illustrate their work in videos and pictures to make impact!
From being in front of the camera to taking the camera and their story in their own hands, Solar Enterprises like Anuel Energy UG, Innovation: Africa, ARED GROUP LTD and Sunny Money told their stories at the #DigitalStoytellingUg workshop with local media players, Alzar Media, Runis Media, Digimark Communications and Xpo-imaging and international organizer, Design Xchange. #digitalstorytelling #visualstorytelling #cinematography UN Capital Development Fund The Uganda Solar Energy Association The Innovation Village Follow us to learn more on how to illustrate your innovative story online! Working with NOT JUST’s youth empowerment intiative in Kampala during Pilot 1 was inspiring and eye opening. Their diverse programs for youth are reflected by the young women and men with such a variety of interests from carpentry and business to music and dance. It is also beautiful to see Kyusa’s constant support for their trainees and the impact they have in the community! We are excited to see their progress continue.
When you have great people come over, you know greatness has come. Thanks to Kyusa for all the light through our journey. We are sure its not excitement anymore, its now character doing what we do. Almost five years we still stick to the same vision."Empowering children and youth". Grateful for each milestone and thankful for each challenge. We stronger than we seem and wiser than we think God being our lead captain. So thankful #Notjust.

HARVESTING COFFEE !!
We are yet to our harvest seasons.
Coffee is harvested depending on the variety, it will take approximately 3 to 4 years for the newly planted coffee trees to bear fruit. The fruit is called the coffee cherry. The cherry turns a bright, deep red when it is ripe and ready to be harvested. However, many farmers lack skills in coffee harvesting. One of the reasons to low coffee quality comes when farmers harvest un ready cherries. This leads to loss in weight during production and creates quarkers after roast. Quarkers don't darken well when roasted hence loss in quantity levels. In a way to support high quality coffee production. Farmers need trainings to help them have the best cherries.
We at Kyaffe Farmers Coffee believe that involving farmers in the trainings is the way to have the best coffee cup.
Join us in our next trainings starting in March 15th to contribute to the best cup. Register and bring women farmers to learn with us in Mpigi via [email protected]

We, a group of Graduate Students at Columbia University, founded Design XChange in September 2018. We were selected as a semi-finalist in the Dean's Public Policy Challenge Grant. We are currently planning first ever collaborative exchange trip on January 9-18, 2019. We will be supporting 3 Ugandan nonprofits with a unique design team of 3 U.S. based designers and 3 local Ugandan designers. The team would include a graphic designer, a filmmaker and a design thinking specialist each from the U.S. and Uganda. Design Xchange has been selected as a semi-finalist in Columbia University's Dean's Challenge for Public Policy Innovation Ideas and the next phase of the competition will be the beginning of February 2019. We are hoping to pilot our prototype in January to test the idea on the ground to then move on to the next phase of Design Xchange implementation.
