After my parents passed away, my father's closest friend took me in as his own — following his funeral, I was approached by a stranger who handed me a flash drive along with a note that stated, "IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO YOUR PARENTS, OPEN THE FLASH DRIVE."
When I was just three years old, my parents lost their lives in a tragic car accident.
Thomas had been my father's best companion since they were children. He was very much a part of my parents' lives, so when they died, he formally adopted me.
He nurtured me as if I were his own daughter. I never felt lonely with him around.
He would read me bedtime stories, attend every school event, and later, he even walked me down the aisle during my wedding.
As I matured, I frequently inquired about my parents, but he never provided many details.
He often mentioned that revisiting those memories was too painful for him, as my parents had been akin to family for him.
He remained unmarried and did not have any children of his own. I became his everything, just as he was mine.
A month ago, he lost his battle with cancer.
My heart felt completely broken.
A few days following his funeral, I went back to his home to sort through some of his belongings.
Through the window, I spotted a mysterious woman hastily placing something into the mailbox.
I dashed outside and called out to her, but she didn't look back. She vanished from sight.
Upon opening the mailbox, I discovered an envelope.
It bore no name. No postage.
Inside, there was a note and a flash drive.
My hands shook as I read:
"You don't know what really happened to your parents. Thomas lied to you. Open this flash drive and you'll understand everything yourself."
My heart raced uncontrollably.
I extracted the flash drive from the envelope.
Honestly, fear gripped me. But my curiosity prevailed.
I hurried back inside the house and quickly connected the flash drive to my laptop.
I NEARLY FAINTED WHEN I SAW WHAT WAS ON THE FILES. ⬇️
