Discovery calls are critical for ‘locking in’ leads, making the questions you ask very important, esp when they’re open-ended.
According to @hubspot, “One characteristic of most high-value questions is that they are open-ended instead of closed-ended.”
To get a scope of the difference b/w CLOSED v. OPEN-ENDED questions, here’s an example of ea. by @hubspot - maybe it can help you rephrase your discovery call questions already in place, if not doing so already:
SCENARIO-After meeting end:
CLOSED-ENDED?: “Did you find this meeting helpful?” RESULT: the client would simply answer yes/no
OPEN-ENDED?: “We’ve been through a bit of a process to get to this point, have we not? Can you tell me the value you feel you’ve received by going through this entire process?”
RESULT: prospect/client clearly articulates their perception of the process, helping you get even clearer on your value. Furthermore, asking your prospects & clients about value actually helps them reinforce it in their own minds. This makes you earn the right to ask for referrals.
So try out some of these questions & see what happens - you never know.
Have you tried these yet?

I'm trying to figure out what freebies I can create to spark some joy into your lives?
Here is one of my favorite tools I like to use when creating content. When I'm image sourcing while creating content, this great app makes it easy for me to capture GIFS to use later in my content. Next thing you know, you end up with your very own GIF library.
One note of advice: if you find a GIF that was created by someone specifically, save that name in the file's name. This avoids you from getting in trouble for not crediting the source if it happens to be copyrighted.
Hope you find it useful.

Did you know today is National Fast Food Day?
I don’t know about you but I’m not one to really eat fast food. As a kid growing up, I was only allowed to indulge in such decadence (including burgers & pizza) occasionally.
Those days felt like Xmas, no matter what time of year it was.
To eat a hot slice of pizza, with oozing cheese, pepperoni and veggies was heaven. Burgers were strictly beef but eventually I graduated to only turkey or veggie. I’m such a rebel!
But french fries, are my kryptonite.
What is your favorite fast food?

What do you love about where you live?
I can say this about where I live— as a native of NYC, an endangered species, I can honestly admit it’s one of the most exciting cities. Besides having so much to offer as far as culture, food and entertainment is concerned, it’s definitely the city that never sleeps.
No matter how late, you can always find an open deli here.
What about you friend-where do you live?
Wishing a safe and fun Halloween.
Today is National Pumpkin Day.
I might lose some of you but I HATE PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES. There, I said it.
However, I love the flavor in my cooking like Pumpkin Spice by Flavor God: https://flavorgod.com/
I've been known to add it to pork and chicken recipes.
They have the best all-natural flavor seasonings. They're perfect for those who practice a healthy diet. Sometimes, you need variety with your meals and these seasonings will definitely spice things up. (couldn't help it)
They also have seasonings for desserts too!
What do you like that's pumpkin?
What is your favorite fall dessert?
With Turkey, right around the corner, I can’t help but think about 🎃 flavors, but note, I HATE 🎃 SPICE LATTES!
So when I came across this recipe for 🎃 CANNOLIS, I just had to try it. Who doesn’t love cannolis?
Sounds like an interesting hybrid of flavors, right? Hope it tastes as good as it sounds.
Here’s a recipe to try them for yourself:
Cooking spray, for pans
All-purpose flour, for rolling out dough
15-oz. store-bought refrigerated pie dough
2 tbsp. cinnamon-sugar
2 c. ricotta
1 c. pumpkin puree
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. pumpkin spice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. mini chocolate chips
* Preheat oven to 350°. Grease 2 nonsticking baking sheets with cooking spray. Tear off a large square of foil, then roll the foil into a long and tight cylinder. Repeat to make 4 cylinders total. Place 2 foil cylinders on each baking sheet and spray foil with cooking spray.
* Onto a lightly floured surface, unroll pie crust and sprinkle all over with cinnamon-sugar. Use a 3” biscuit cutter to stamp out rounds. Wrap the rounds around the foil and pinch together the ends to shape a cannoli shell. Bake until golden and crispy, about 20 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before carefully removing from foil.
* Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine ricotta and pumpkin purée and beat until light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar, pumpkin spice, vanilla, and salt and beat until as smooth as possible. Fold in chocolate chips then transfer mixture to a large piping bag.
* Pipe filling into the cannoli shells and serve immediately.
As i started on my journey of starting my business, my WHY wasn’t very clear. But when I took mindfulness a lot more seriously, things started to make sense. When you take pause, to quiet your mind, you set the stage for focus.
Trust me, meditation for me was not an instant ‘go-to’ solution. But when doing research on successful entrepreneurs, one thing a lot of them shared in common was Transcendental Meditation.
Transcendental Mediation/TM, helped me lay a foundation to think more clearly on how to crush my daily goals. And like everything else, consistency is key.
While it’s better to be trained in this specific type of meditation, by a trained professional, I am going to share some tips in hopes it helps you quiet your mind, to bring ease and focus throughout your day.
But first, let me break down Transcendental Meditation to you the way it was broken down for me.
David Lynch’s Foundation For Consciousness-Based Education and Peace CEO Bob Roth explains it like this using the following analogy:
You’re on a ⛵ and stuck in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and all of a sudden you get 30 foot 🌊 all around you, and you could think, ‘Oh my god, the whole ocean is in upheaval.’
But, if you could do a cross-section of the ocean:
you’d realize there’s turbulent 🌊 on the surface while its depth is silent.
In the same way, the surface of our 🧠 is like the 🌊: scattered, agitated, active, noisy, ‘gotta, gotta, gotta’ 🧠. Not much creativity-just noise.
By seeing your 🧠 in this way, you’ll be able to better focus on achieving inner peace through the following exercise.
Normally, it’s best to be trained and guided by someone more qualified than myself, but I will give you some key tips that I learned.
Hopefully, it can help you find calm and increase your creativity and focus.
1. Find a comfortable place to sit where you’re feet are planted on the floor and rest your 👐 on your lap/beside you. Basically, whatever feels most comfortable for you.
2. To cancel out any ambient noise, try listening to sounds that will center you. I use this iPhone app called WHITE NOISE:
that really helps me. You can set it for however long you desire your meditation to last. [You’ll need to set two timers-One for 10 mins and Two for 3-5mins (explained further below)] If you’re new to meditation, I would suggest starting with just 10 mins.
3. Close your 👀
4. As your listening to the sounds, concentrate on your breathing, inhaling and exhaling through your 👃.
5. While your doing this, you might find all the ‘Gotta Gotta Gotta’ thoughts come through as a tidal 🌊 and this is where your mantra comes in. These mantras, assigned to you by a TM instructor are usually Sanskrit mantras, said to be particularly sacred because of the sounds and syllables that make up this ancient language, (Meditation Trust). [For this exercise, I’m going to give you a simple one I found on Sonima: SO HUM - considered by Hindu and Buddhist traditions to be both a breath mantra and a philosophical aphorism meaning, “I am that.”]
6. As you start your breathing and the thoughts of ‘what I should be doing,’ ‘did I forget this/the other’ etc, start creeping in, think of the words SO HUM. Repeat them to yourself, inside your 🧠as much as you can, and slowly those thoughts should start to drift away.
7. Continue focusing on your breathing and if you use the app, it should ring after your ten minutes are up.
8. But don’t get up yet.
9. Set a timer for 3-5mins, if you can, to slowly come down from your meditation.
10. After that’s done, open your 👀 and go about your day.
Hope this helps.
How do you mentally prepare yourself for tackling your day-to-day business goals?
Happy National Nut Day!
Yes, that’s not a typo - it’s actually a thing.
Here’s a fun fact about me: my last name’s English translation is ‘of the Walnuts’ / ‘of the Nuts’. Hashtag true story.
So today you learned two things: you found out today is some random holiday AND you learned three Spanish words.
Now you share a fun fact about yourself below?
Today’s International Sloth Day.
Isn’t it just the cutest thing ever?!
How are you going to make the most of your laziness today?
I’m confident in my ability as a digital marketer to help businesses and brands put their best selves out there.
What I never expected was to see someone
take my advice and see them grow their online visibility.
I have never been so proud!
Here’s to unexpected magic growing from the everyday hustle!
There are a ton of things that have changed in
my life over the last decade or so…lost my first pup and started my own digital marketing agency.
Friends of mine have come and gone, but one thing
Our relationship can be annoying and frustrating but I honestly can’t imagine living my life without
it…I don’t know how I lived my life before it.
Who’s with me?

There’s really nothing easy about being an entrepreneur.
There are times when I think I must have been insane to ever have chosen this life. In those moments I remind myself of the nicest things anyone ever said about my creativity in particular: “Yvette on two occasions consulted with our company on marketing projects. She was responsible for the redesign of our website and was an important influence in redirecting our social media initiative. She has the gift of originality in her approach to design and implements this with confidence. Despite this confidence, she’s a good listener and people enjoy working with her. “
The role of storyteller, investigator, writer and graphic and web designer involved in being a digital marketer helps me with my other life as a fashion and lifestyle blogger.
It means so much to receive this kind of feedback and it’s always the thing that keeps me pressing on. And I’m here to connect with you if you have any questions I can answer.
