Today I am sharing how I transformed this brown vase into a beautiful blue, ceramic-looking beauty!

All you need is baking soda, a paint brush, paint color of choice and a vessel. You can choose any shape, size or color; even glass. I chose this brown one for its shape and ridges.

You simply add as much or as little baking soda as you want to your paint, depending on how textured you want your piece to look.

Then, keep layering with different shades of the same color to create your desired effect! It’s truly that simple!

God bless the husbands of the diyers who may roll their eyes every time we pull out a tape measure, or shake their heads when we tell them about our recent marketplace find that needs picking up, but still let us do this stuff because they know how much joy it brings us 🤍 They are the real MVPS ✨

“I haven’t done it yet”

I never realized this about myself until I heard this audio and it really resonated with me. I wouldn’t say I’m an outspoken girl who goes around thinking or saying, “oh I could do that!” But I have realized that I have this underlying…I don’t know that I would call it confidence, but more like lack of fear, that if I see a project I don’t think I can’t do it. Does that make any sense? 😅

For example, we were getting chickens and we had gotten a chicken coop for free that said it held four chickens but when we got it, it was immediately apparent that it was barely built for one! So my brain said, ok I guess I need to build a bigger coop. And I did!

Had I ever done anything like this before? Absolutely not! The most I had ever done was hammer a nail into a wall but I didn’t let that stop me.

All this to say, don’t sell yourself short. If there is something you want to try, TRY! You may fail, but I promise you’ll learn so much in the process.

And you never know, you may just surprise yourself and build a chicken coop with plans from Etsy 🐓
