WHO WE ARE Red Antelope was founded by two Academy Award nominated filmmakers Tim Metzger and Jennifer Redfearn. WHAT WE DO We create cinematic and engaging stories for a global audience. We collaborate with a talented team of editors, designers, and composers to deliver stories for a diverse range of clients. WHY WE DO IT We believe storytelling is a vital part of being human and how we make sense of the world around us. We value true stories and the power they have to communicate ideas, highlight important issues, broaden understanding, and inspire audiences. WHERE WE WORK We’ve led and managed production teams across the United States, in Central America, South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Papua New Guinea. We were one of the producing teams on National Geographic’s highest rated television series in 2012 and 2013, and we produced a tribute video for CNN Heroes, a Peabody Award winning show that honors individuals who make extraordinary contributions to society. Our first independent film, Sun Come Up, was nominated for an Academy Award and the IDA’s Pare Lorenz Award.

Touch the Light

What a lovely way to start the New Year with this post from the Irish Film Board:

"Touch the Light is an inspiring, sensitively shot and moving depiction of the lives of three blind women in Cuba...Redfearn and producer and DOP Tim Metzger were fortunate to find such extraordinary women for their production, made over a period of three years. While focusing on the three central female subjects, the film also touches upon Cuba’s turbulent history and finds resonances between personal and political struggles, featuring photos and other archive from the Cuban revolution intercut with contemporary commentary from the women depicted... it is an important documenting of a unique and extraordinary society and its people."

Stay tuned friends for more screening announcements in 2016!

Thank you Remezcla for the recent coverage!

"Three women in vastly different stages of life confront a moment of personal transformation, shedding the burden of expectation and the weight of the past to step forward tentatively into a future filled with new possibilities. Some might recognize this as the basic premise of Humberto Solás’ classic Cuban epic Lucía (1968), and it’s no accident that a screening of this film unites the three female protagonists of Jennifer Redfearn’s latest documentary, Tocando la luz (Touch the Light)."

We're very excited to announce that Tocando la Luz will be screening this weekend as part of Movies and Meaning in Albuquerque, NM. We're honored to be in a screening series with one of our favorite films, The Tree of Life, among many other films.

The director, Gareth Higgins, describes Tocando la Luz as, "An exquisite observational film about three women in Cuba living with blindness. Moving, funny, and beautiful, an insight into a particular struggle in a particular place with universal resonance for anyone who wants to be more human.”
