What fans don’t see…this is the script and notes after our second ever headliner weekend in Salem, VA.
Building a new show with a new cast and crew is a huge undertaking. But that’s just the first step. It’s the time and effort that goes into the notes and working with the team on how to improve every moment that is most important.
Every detail matters. The audio, the sound cues, the blocking, the writing and verbiage to announce the bit, the contestant selection and education, the transitions from one promotion to another, the player involvement with the fans, the pace of play and how it impacts the show.
We will never settle with something that is just fine. Fine is the “F bomb” in our organization. We are working to create the Greatest Show in Sports and we want to create greatness with everything we do. We aren’t there and we aren’t even close. But it’s this pursuit that drives us.
With these two shows, I had over 55 notes of how we can improve. And that fires me up.
You learn by doing. And we will do more and test more than anyone else, we just have to be prepared to fail and learn. That’s how we get better.
But overall, I’m still proud as I continue to be blown away by the care factor of our people. was an intern last year and now he’s leading the show for the Firefighters.
shill5 joined the team last year as a pitcher with no hosting experience, but now is on Mic from the preshow all the way to end of the night.
Add in new announcer/dispatcher with Luc, a new group like the Calendar Crew, hosting promotions, a new mascot in and new bat dog with and new live music with and add in all of our new members of the entertainment team and you have a group of rookies, but performing at a high level.
We are just getting started. But remain grateful for all the fans for supporting us. Seeing sold out crowds for our newest teams means more than you know!
