Few cars capture the excess of the 1980s quite like this one.

In 1985, German tuner Gemballa reportedly transformed a BMW 635CSi into a one-off creation commissioned for Uday Hussein, the son of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. At a time when Gemballa was becoming famous for its wild interpretations of European performance cars, this project pushed the concept to another level.

The car received an aggressive widebody conversion with enlarged fenders, deep side skirts, custom bumpers, oversized rear wheels, and quad exhaust outlets. In the mid-1980s, a small German tuning company called Benny S decided that Mercedes' elegant W126 coupe wasn't dramatic enough.

So they built the Panam.

And that's exactly the point.

Developed by Capricorn Group and styled by legendary Italian design house Zagato, the Capricorn 01 is a limited-production hypercar that combines modern engineering with an unapologetically old-school philosophy. Production is capped at just 19 units worldwide, instantly placing it among the rarest hypercars on the planet.

At its core is a supercharged 5.2-liter Ford V8 producing approximately 900 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. Unlike most modern hypercars, that power is sent to the rear wheels through a traditional 5-speed manual gearbox, making the driver an active part of the experience rather than simply a passenger to technology.

Muscle cars and flower patterns are not usually mentioned in the same sentence.

In 1969, Chrysler decided they should be.

During the height of the muscle car era, Dodge introduced one of the strangest factory options ever offered on a performance car: the Floral Top. Designed to attract more women into dealerships, the vinyl roof featured a bold green floral pattern that looked more like a piece of 1960s furniture than something you'd find on a high-performance Mopar.

While Plymouth offered a similar option called the Mod Top across several models, Dodge's Floral Top was far rarer. Production records suggest only around 218 Dodge vehicles received the option during its single year of availability, including Darts, Coronets, and Super Bees.

This particular 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee is among the rarest of them all.

Only 26 Super Bees were reportedly built with the Floral Top option, and enthusiasts believe roughly a dozen survive today. Adding to the rarity, buyers could only order the package with specific green exterior colors, making these cars instantly recognizable decades later.

The unusual vinyl material was manufactured by Stauffer Chemicals, a company better known for producing shower curtains and plastic tablecloths than muscle car components.

The marketing strategy never became the success Chrysler hoped for.

But more than fifty years later, it created one of the most memorable factory options in automotive history.

Seven years ago, Kimera Automobili didn't exist.

Today, the small Turin-based company has unveiled a hypercar with a Koenigsegg engine.

Called the K39, the new machine marks a dramatic step beyond Kimera's previous projects. While the EVO37 and EVO38 reimagined the legendary Lancia 037 rally car, the K39 is an entirely original creation built from the ground up around a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis.

The styling takes inspiration from the iconic Lancia Beta Montecarlo Silhouette Group 5 race car, but underneath is thoroughly modern engineering. Power comes from a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 developed exclusively for the project by Koenigsegg. While based on the same core architecture used in hypercars like the Regera and Jesko, the engine has been specifically tuned for the K39 with revised software, bespoke calibration, and smaller turbochargers designed to improve throttle response.

The result is a staggering 986 horsepower and 885 lb-ft of torque delivered through a traditional manual gearbox and rear-wheel-drive layout.

Perhaps even more impressive is the weight.

Kimera is targeting approximately 1,100 kilograms, placing the K39 in the same weight range as a Porsche Cayman despite producing nearly 1,000 horsepower.

The project is also historically significant because it reportedly marks the first time Koenigsegg has supplied an engine to another manufacturer. For a young company with fewer than a decade of history, securing that partnership is an achievement in itself.

Two versions are planned: a road-going model and an extreme Pikes Peak specification.

The new ID.Buzz Tourer 4Motion takes inspiration from Volkswagen's European "Good Night Package" and transforms the electric van into a compact adventure vehicle designed for overnight travel.
