Easy fix or call a roofer? Had a ridge cap blow off in a wind storm. Buddy helped me out by getting up on the roof since it’s very steep and he’s got some experience. Turned out it was a little worse than expected. Is this as easy as slapping new ridge cap shingles and sealing it with roofing cement? Or do we call a roofer to fix?

Had new basement steps poured recently, but the “broom finish” ended up looking more like someone dragged a metal rake across the concrete 😅
It’s only been about a week and I already can’t properly sweep the landing because dirt and debris get trapped down in all the deep grooves.
I understand wanting some texture for traction, but this feels way rougher than expected.
Just wondering if there’s an easy fix or DIY solution for smoothing it out a bit without completely redoing the surface.
Any advice would be appreciated!

I paid a plumbing company $4,400 to replace a sewer line under my garage, and now my garage floor looks like it lost a fight with a sidewalk 😭
They cut a huge section out of the concrete, repaired the pipe, and patched it back in with concrete that doesn’t even remotely match the original floor.
So I asked the foreman when they planned to stain or finish it so it would blend in better…
And this man literally laughed and said:
“It’s a garage floor, buddy, not the Taj Mahal. Be glad it’s not dirt.” 💀
BE GLAD IT’S NOT DIRT??
I’m sorry, but if I’m paying thousands of dollars for a “professional” repair, I feel like the end result shouldn’t look like a random parking lot patch job.
Now I’m sitting here wondering if this just tanked the appearance — and possibly the resale value — of my garage.
Would you push back and demand they resurface the area properly, or am I overreacting?

Roof is less than a year old and already leaking near a valley during heavy rain. Contractor says the roof was installed properly, but something clearly seems off to me.
I’m concerned they’re offering a quick cheap repair instead of addressing the real issue, and I don’t want this turning into a recurring problem.
Do any roofers here see a possible cause from these photos? Included pictures of the suspected area, resulting damage, and their repair.

From pump placement to finishing detail, every section has to flow together before the concrete sets.
This is where craftsmanship separates basic flatwork from high-end concrete design.

This whole concrete job ended up being a waste of work.
The curved design had potential but the finish looks inconsistent unfinished and poorly detailed. Water sitting on the surface rough texture and messy edge work completely ruined what should have been a clean luxury install.
