TINUBU INAUGURATES APC 2027 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL; ABDULAZIZ YARI APPOINTED DIRECTOR-GENERAL

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 presidential election.

According to the list released on Saturday morning, President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the Campaign Council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as Vice Chairman. APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will also serve as a Vice Chairman.

Key Appointments

* Senator Abdulaziz Yari – Director-General of the Campaign Council.

* Governor Hope Uzodimma – Secretary of the Campaign Council.

* Senator Ajibola Bashiru – Deputy Secretary.

* Hadiza Bala Usman – Assistant Secretary.

Advisory Council

President Tinubu will work with an advisory team comprising:

* Chief Bisi Akande

* Chief Segun Osoba

* Senator Rochas Okorocha

* Senator Abdullahi Adamu

* Senator Florence Ita Giwa

# # # Deputy Directors-General

* Senate President Godswill Akpabio – South.

* Governor Mai Mala Buni – North.

They will work alongside Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Senator Jibrin Barau in coordinating campaign activities across the two zones.

Other Key Positions

* Senator Adams Oshiomhole – Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation.

* James Abiodun Faleke – Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

* Muiz Banire – Director of the Legal Directorate.

* Mohammed Idris Malagi – Coordinating Director for Media and Strategic Communication.

In the New Media Directorate, Segun Dada retains his role as Director, while Solomon Arowolo serves as Secretary.

Tinubu’s Message to the Council

President Tinubu urged all members of the Campaign Council to work tirelessly to secure APC’s victory in the January 2027 presidential election.

He said his administration has fulfilled key campaign promises and has placed Nigeria’s economy on the path to recovery and growth, adding that the party should confidently present its achievements to Nigerians during the campaign season.

Governor Adeleke Presents Certificate of Return to President Tinubu at A*o Villa

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he presented his Certificate of Return following his re-election in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.

The presentation took place during a closed-door meeting between President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke at A*o Villa.

Adeleke was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), polling 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes. ADC candidate Najeem Salaam came third with 17,180 votes.

The governor had received his Certificate of Return from INEC in Osogbo on Wednesday, alongside his deputy, Kola Adewusi. He dedicated the certificate to the people of Osun State, describing it as a renewed mandate and a responsibility to continue serving the people.

The meeting with President Tinubu comes days after Adeleke publicly thanked the President for congratulating him following his electoral victory. Adeleke has also endorsed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.

The development further highlights the evolving political relationship between the Osun governor and the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
