With influences ranging from composer John Williams, to jazz artists such as Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Arturo Sandoval, Quincy Jones, Herb Albert, Sammy Davis Jr., and Frank Sinatra - Pop, Rock, R&B and Soul artists such as Berry Gordy, Burt Bacharach, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Wonder, and finally m
ore contemporary artists such as Eminem, P. Diddy, Jay-Z, Drake and Childish Gambino - Amir Royale moved towards musical business establishment. By 2010, Royale had drafted and composed a large amount of poetry, songs, lyrics and orchestrations but at age 14, Royale officially began his pursuit of becoming a recording artist. During the Summer of 2013, Royale spent his time working in collaboration with fellow artist Jharrel Jerome, also known by his pseudonym SlimJayy. After meeting Jerome, a upper class sophomore, during his freshman year at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, Royale was invited to be featured on the developing project. The two tracks that Royale and Jerome collaborated on (one being a cover of ASAP Rocky's single "Big Spender") were released on October 16, 2013 as a part of Jerome's debut mixtape F.M.L. Following the release of F.M.L, Royale created his current MySpace and SoundCloud under the usernames "bluesbellmusic". He released "Big Spender" with Jerome's permission as his first sound on March 1, 2014 and eventually posted the lyrics on the music website Rap Genius. The skit "Rap Battle" that introduces Royale on the tape was released on December 22, 2014. On February 28, 2014, after collaborating with fellow schoolmates Nathaniel Singh, Travis Raeburn and Marquise Naipaul, the four became a group named True Artists and performed in LaGuardia's "Black Cabaret: What You Don't Know" show. After attending and completing NYU's Future Filmmakers Workshop in May 2014 where he filmed a documentary music video about the group, Royale released the film "True Artists ~ Make Believe" on his YouTube channel May 5 and on Vimeo November 23. The video is the official music video for True Artist's original song "Make Believe". The lyrics for "Make Believe" can also be found on Rap Genius. On June 28, 2014, Royale released the instrumental "Monsieur Fox, Mister MC" as the first single from his upcoming EP, This Is for You. Straying from the Hip-Hop/R&B vibe of songs such as "Big Spender" and "Make Believe", "Monsieur Fox, Mister MC" contrasts his previously known tone and experiments with the Latin and Jazz genres. All instruments were conducted, arranged, written and performed by Royale himself. On September 20, 2014, his next single, "The Tale" in collaboration with internet musical producer JAYBeatz was announced. It was then released on December 31st, 2014 as the promotional single for his debut mixtape Magnificent.
