🌍 Why Does Earth Have Seasons? 😱
Did you know that **Earth's seasons are not caused by how close we are to the Sun**? ☀️🌎 Instead, the changing seasons happen because Earth is tilted about **23.5 degrees** on its axis as it orbits the Sun.
As Earth travels around the Sun, different parts of the planet receive varying amounts of sunlight throughout the year. When the Northern Hemisphere tilts toward the Sun, it experiences longer days, warmer temperatures, and **summer**, while the Southern Hemisphere experiences **winter**. About six months later, the situation reverses.
During **spring** and **autumn**, neither hemisphere is tilted strongly toward or away from the Sun, so day and night are nearly equal in length. This constant change in sunlight affects weather, plant growth, animal behavior, and ecosystems across the globe.
Without Earth's axial tilt, most places would experience nearly the same climate all year, and the familiar cycle of four seasons would not exist.
The next time the seasons change, remember—it's all because our planet is tilted as it journeys around the Sun! 🌍☀️✨
