Rep. Thomas Massie used a speech on the floor of the U.S. House to publicly name several prominent men he says federal prosecutors tried to keep concealed in the Epstein files.
Earlier this year, Massie and Rep. Ro Khanna reviewed unredacted Epstein-related material at the Justice Department. According to the lawmakers, the documents included multiple individuals they described as βlikely incriminated,β whose names had been removed from publicly released records.
During his remarks, Massie identified three men: Leon Black, the former CEO of Apollo Global Management; Jes Staley, the former Barclays CEO; and Leslie Wexner, the billionaire founder of L Brands. He argued the redactions were unjustified and called for deeper scrutiny into the case.
It is important to note that none of the three men have been charged with crimes connected to the Epstein files, and being named in a congressional speech does not constitute proof of wrongdoing or a criminal accusation. The statements reflect Massieβs claims, made under congressional legal protections.
Massie says he intends to continue pressing for more disclosures and may reveal additional names before leaving Congress. Supporters view the move as a push for accountability and transparency, while critics argue that publicly naming uncharged individuals carries serious legal and ethical concerns. The broader controversy surrounding the Epstein files remains unresolved.
