🚨 BREAKING: FEDERAL JUDGE BLOCKS TRUMP’S MAIL-VOTING RESTRICTIONS AGAIN
A federal judge has extended a block on the Trump administration’s effort to impose new requirements on mail-in voting ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani’s preliminary injunction prevents the U.S. Postal Service from enforcing the new rules, which include requirements involving ballot envelopes and voter lists.
The ruling comes as states begin sending out mail ballots. North Carolina became the first state to mail ballots for the November midterms on Friday, increasing the urgency of the legal dispute.
Talwani concluded that changing the rules this late in the election cycle could create major logistical problems and risk disenfranchising eligible voters. The administration has already sought Supreme Court intervention and is expected to continue appealing the ruling.
The legal battle is far from over—but for now, the new USPS mail-ballot requirements remain blocked for the midterms.
