This is the exact same logic we condemned when it was used against us. You cannot fight racial injustice with racial injustice. Murder is murder. Austin Metcalf’s life mattered too

Nobody wants to talk about this stat but I will. 70 percent of Black children are growing up without their father in the home. SEVENTY PERCENT. And we wonder why our boys are lost. We wonder why our girls settle for less. We wonder why the violence never stops. A boy without a father is a ship without a compass. He will find direction somewhere. The streets will offer it. The gangs will offer it. The wrong people will always offer direction to a boy who has none at home. Black fathers your children are not looking for a perfect man. They are looking for a PRESENT one

Austin Metcalf was 17 years old.
He went to a high school track meet.
He was stabbed and killed.
And then the very people
who should have demanded justice for him
spent a year turning his killer into a hero

This was not self defense.

🚨 The courtroom reportedly went silent as graphic autopsy photos of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf were shown to the jury.

Jurors appeared visibly shaken.
Some reportedly gasped at the images.

Meanwhile, prosecutors said Karmelo Anthony kept his eyes turned away from the screen during the presentation.

No matter where people stand on the case, one reality hit that courtroom hard:

A 17-year-old boy lost his life over an argument that should have never escalated this far.

Now the jury must decide whether this was self-defense…
or something far more serious.

What scares me isn’t Karmelo Anthony. What scares me is that there are people walking around in our community who genuinely believe skin color determines innocence. That is the most dangerous idea in America right now. More dangerous than any politician. More dangerous than any policy.
