From a small city in Bulgaria to my 25th Emmy nomination — what a journey.
I grew up during communist times, in a world that taught girls like me to dream small.
But I didn’t.
At 13, I told everyone I’d go to America and be famous and rich.
They laughed (I'm laughing now too)
What did I know at 13?
Turns out — enough to believe in myself even when no one else did.
I’m not famous. I’m not rich. But I am free.
Free to do what I love.
And I’ve always lived life on my own rules.
I never abandoned myself, my dreams, or my dignity.
I’ve been called many things — a bitch, ungrateful, too much, too proud. I call it-knowing my worth.
But I knew this: I might not have much,
but I will always have my dignity.
And I will always walk away from anyone who can’t see my light or a riom too small for my spirit.
Don’t let people tell you what dreams to have.
Don’t shrink to fit their comfort.
Walk your lane. Live your story.
Take 1000 photos — that’s what I’ll do tonight.
Drink the champagne, even if your drink is prosecco — I’ll have many of those.
Buy the gold shoes. Wear the sparkly pants. Throw on the short sequin dress that makes you feel like the main character. Who cares.
Be you. Always you.
Here’s to the messy middle between what we dreamed and what we became —
because sometimes, that’s where the magic lives.
