New York City mayoral candidate and tenant activists rallied this morning outside the New York Apartment Association headquarters to denounce the landlord lobby group for giving $2.5 million to the Super PAC of Andrew “Quid Pro Quo” Cuomo. The protesters were disrupted by a rightwing extremist wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat who was arrested after hitting and biting women attending the rally. In case you weren’t sure (looking at you corporate media) about the difference between left-wing and right-wing populism there it is: The former fights landlords so people can afford to stay in their homes. The other fights the people fighting the landlords.

On Monday, Harlem was on fire with a tremendous showing of love and respect during the 35th straight year of “Shut ‘Em Down,” when stores across W. 125th Street, Harlem’s major shopping district, are made to close by the unity of Black people. Yesterday the genocidal war criminal Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir was supposed to be at an event on Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn. Although he didn’t show, a planned protest organized by still took place, with dozens of pro-Israel counter-protesters on site. Multiple arrests of both pro-Palestine and pro-Israel protesters. There were agitations from both sides, but much more coming from the pro-Israel camp. Press was threatened often and called slurs by them.
