God bless our troops and God bless the United States of America. We pray each and every one of our soldiers stays safe and protected.

May the world never forget what American strength looks like when it defends freedom.

Nineteen is too young to d*e in a war zone.
PFC Amy A. Duerksen had barely stepped into adulthood when she stepped into combat boots. From Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, she joined the Army and was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
While most 19-year-olds were thinking about college classes or weekend plans, Amy was preparing for patrols in Baghdad.
Heat. Dust. Constant tension.
Every mission carried risk. Every road could hide danger. Still, she showed up. She did her job. She fulfilled her duty without hesitation.
She was not chasing headlines.
She was serving her country.
On March 11, 2006, in Baghdad, that service cost her everything.
An attack struck.
Amy was k*lled in action.
Nineteen years old.
A daughter who would never walk back through her familyโ€™s front door. A young woman whose life ended before it truly began. A soldier who gave more than she ever had the chance to receive.
Back home, the knock on the door shattered her familyโ€™s world. A folded flag replaced future plans. Silence replaced laughter.
For a brief moment, her name appeared in news reports. Tributes were shared. Flags were lowered.
Then time moved forward.
The war continued.
New names replaced old ones.
But Amy had given her youth to something larger than herself. She had accepted danger so others could live in safety. She had stood where few are willing to stand.
Freedom is often discussed in speeches.
Its cost is carried by teenagers like her.
Today, many cannot name the soldiers lost that year. They do not see the face behind the uniform. They do not imagine a 19-year-old standing in Baghdad, far from home.
Amy Duerksen deserved decades.
She was given 19 years.
And that is a price we should never forget.

Today, our hearts are shattered by the loss of those who made the ultimate sacrifice during operations regarding Iran. To trade one's future for the security of others is a price that few are willing to pay, yet these warriors gave their last full measure of devotion without hesitation.

The cost of liberty is stark and painful, felt most deeply in the silence of an empty chair at a family dinner table and the grief of a nation that has lost its very best. They stood the line until the end, ensuring that the dangers of a distant land never reached our doorsteps.

We make a solemn vow that their names will not fade into the pages of history books, but will live on in the gratitude of a free people.

We will never forget your memory, nor the courage it took to stand your ground in the face of danger. Your watch is over, heroes; rest easy in the peace you fought so hard to secure, knowing that your legacy is etched forever in the hearts of those you saved.
