EPL: Arsenal cruise past Forest with 3-0 victory

Arsenal eased to a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, strengthening their push at the top of the Premier League.

The Gunners broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Martín Zubimendi lashed home a volley from a distance. Just after the restart, Viktor Gyökeres doubled the lead in the 46th minute, finishing off a precise pass from Eberechi Eze. Zubimendi then sealed the result in the 79th minute, rising highest to head in his second of the match.

Mikel Arteta’s side were forced into an early adjustment as captain Martin Ødegaard departed with a shoulder injury following a heavy fall. Despite also missing Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, and Kai Havertz, Arsenal’s squad depth proved decisive as they controlled proceedings and limited Forest’s attacking threat.

Nottingham Forest, led by new boss Ange Postecoglou in his first game in charge, struggled to find rhythm. His attacking philosophy was rarely seen as the visitors were repeatedly undone by Arsenal’s sharp movement and passing.

The victory lifts Arsenal to the top of the table, underlining their title ambitions. Forest, meanwhile, remain winless away from home and continue to hover dangerously close to the relegation zone.
