Essex Metro Immunization Coalition The Essex Metro Immunization Coalition is New Jersey’s only state-supported municipality-focused coalition.

With forty active members, EMIC supports efforts dedicated to increasing and sustaining timely immunization rates for infants, children, and adolescents in the Essex metro communities of Newark, Irvington, East Orange, and Orange. The Coalition’s four workgroups: Best Practices, Education, Opportunities/Advocacy/Branding, and Targeting High-Risk Communities foster increased community awareness abo

ut the importance of vaccination. Coalition members are key contacts for the media and often appear quoted in newspapers statewide. We also advocate for responsible state laws that address childhood and adolescent immunization.
