Cardinal Tobin was among the 400 Catholic protestors and led the crowd in a chant of "stop the inhumanity." The issue also includes a special “Back to School” report, highlighting stories from archdiocesan Catholic schools.

Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., celebrated the World Day for Consecrated Life Feb. 2 with a Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark. Also known as Candlemas Day and held in conjunction with the Feast of the Presentation, candles were blessed symbolizing Christ, the “light of the world.” The service also honored jubilarians celebrating anniversaries.

The Knights of Columbus 5K and Oktoberfest was held at Madonna Parish in Fort Lee on Sept. 28. The event featured a 5K race, food trucks, beer and wine garden, inflatables for the kids, a petting zoo, and live music. It was a benefit for Tackle Kids Cancer and Madonna Church. The event was organized by the Knights of Columbus Coronation Council 1863 and Unity Council 8103 – both in Fort Lee. The event was sponsored by Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark and Relevant Radio. Yesterday, the Legion of Mary Comtium of the Archdiocese of Newark held a Marian Congress and Day of Prayer & Preparation to Make the Act of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary. Thank you to our Parish’s Praesidium for helping host our guests and for the nearly 300 people who came out for this great day. Fr. Fred Miller and Fr.
