On October 6, 2020 The Les Paul Foundation lost another one of its greatest friends. Eddie Van Halen, an icon and one of the greatest musicians of all time passed away after a long battle with cancer. Les Paul and Eddie were great friends, often jamming together on stage and talking by phone. We are heartbroken and wish his family, his friends and his fans from around the world our greatest sympathy. We can only imagine Les and Eddie riffing from above now.

Many of you may know that the Les Paul Foundation lost a great friend, a great musician and a great man this past month. Lou Pallo passed away at the age of 86. Les' friend and "wing-man" was one of amazing talent, true grace and style and was the personification of class. For many years he shared the stage with Les and for many years he was the anchor Les would turn to offering laughter, anecdotes and musical suggestions that made their time together magical. R.I.P. Lou - you made the world a better place just by being in it.

As President NJCMA and reporter/editor for Stepping Out and Country Music Scene, along with Jackie Hinczynski in 1993 were honored to stay and report on the grand opening of the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. We were met by Robert Trump and given access to all of the resort. He was personal and humorous taking us on tour all. Robert was an easy friend and we send our prayers out to President Trump and the family during this time of loss. Robert Trump RIP.
