\\ PSA - Belk or Belt Rd?
Coweta County has it's fair share of weird things, one of which has always been, to me anyway, the interchanging use of Belk and Belt Rd as the name of the road that runs from Smokey Rd to Franklin Rd.
Now there are a TON of roads that have multiple names or designations.
Portions of Newnan Crossing Byp is Newnan Crossing Bypass, Millard Farmer Industrial Blvd, Newnan Crossing Bypass Extension, Hwy 34 West, etc depending on which section you're speaking of.
Don't get me started on Bullsboro Dr and the number of separate designations it has along it's path.
Anyhoo, back to Belk Rd. It's Belk Rd. There is no such thing as Belt Rd outside of the combined psyche of part of the community that have come to call it that, and Google Maps which somehow has split the baby and refers to the portion of the road between Smokey Rd and the 4 way with Fourth St / Wallace Gray Rd as Belt Rd and from the 4 way to Franklin Hwy ( or West Highway 34 if you will ) as Belk Rd.
Coweta County, which approves and maintains all the roads and tax parcels, recognizes only one name for the entire road - Belk Rd, and shows NO roads in the county, or any city within it, named Belt Rd.
So there ya go, it's Belk Rd.
To make things even more confusing, the City of Newnan has signs that incorrectly name the road " Belt Rd ".
