A masterpiece of Art Deco elegance

This exquisite chair, designed by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, captures the essence of refined craftsmanship and timeless luxury. With its sculpted lines, exotic wood grain, and graceful proportions, it reflects Ruhlmann’s belief that furniture should be “made like jewels.”

A true symbol of the 1920s Parisian aesthetic — where sophistication met modernity — this piece reminds us why Ruhlmann remains the undisputed master of Art Deco design.

This is not Child’s play!

This is not Guilded Age furniture for dolls . These are craftsmens models from your local Parisian craftsman. These were to show you the quality and design of what your could purchase in full size or order a custom piece.

FYI, furniture is not signed in France because the were proud of their creations, the only reason furniture was signed in France was because it proved the craftsman paid his tax.

Some clients even paid more money to the French government so the furniture would not be signed. They did not want their visitors to see who made it and have their craftsman working for someone who wanted the same piece in their homes.

If you ever wounder where all the Gilded Age antiques come from or where to find them for the best price possible?

Well this is photos of a “professional only” antiques fair in Chartres, France ... it actually one if the best places to buy these types of pieces.

If you want to know how to organize this type of buying trip. Let me know, I have been doing this since 1989, when I worked for Ralph Lauren, and lived in Paris for 33 years.

Built at the dawn of the Guilded Ages, this is an exceptional model of an 1860’s American hand crafted pre-mass production bookcase secretary showcase. This would have been made for the rising elite for their Guilded age town house or mansion.

Nobody has ever matched the imaginatively, quality and style of French master Cabinet maker Jean Henri Riesener.

In the Gilded Age this was highly desirable antique that only a few were smart enough to acquire them. The best of the best.

Jean-Henri Riesener was a master of cabinetry in 18th-century France. This is one of his greatest masterpieces, the Comte de Provence jewel cabinet. It was made by Riesener for Marie-Joséphine-Louise of Savoy though it later passed through the hands of George IV who bought it at auction with the intention of displaying it in Windsor Castle.
