The quest for a state championship rolls into Round 2!

Bunker Hill will welcome the Brevard Blue Devils for a Round 2 matchup. It'll be the 2nd straight team from the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference for the Bears. They knocked off Hendersonville in Round 1.

Maiden gets a former conference opponent when they travel to Shelby to square off with the Golden Lions.

Hickory will host Statesville in a re-match from a few weeks ago. Hickory bested Statesville 35-20 in the final week of the regular season.

Coach Nick Bazzle will take his North Lincoln Knights to West Henderson to take on the Falcons. North Lincoln knocked off North Davidson in Round 1.

Congratulations to Hickory High QB Brady Stober for being voted the 2024 WNNC Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Player of the Year!

Brady has lead the Red Tornadoes to a perfect 10-0 record overall this season (26 in a row total). He's completed 82 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,342 yards and 26 TDs in the regular season.

Brady becomes the 5th Hickory High player to take home the WNNC Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Player of the Year Award.

Brady and the Red Tornadoes will begin their quest to defend their state championship tonight at Frank Barger Stadium when they host Tuscola.

Congratulations to St. Stephens freshman RB Izzy Payne for being voted the winner of the Week 11 WNNC Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Award.

Izzy had a big night for St. Stephens in their season finale. He carried the rock 35 times for 323 yards and 3 TDs in the Indians win over Fred T. Foard to close out the 2024 season.

The coaches have all been sent the ballots for the 2024 WNNC Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Player of the Year Award. Once those ballots are sent in by the coaches, they'll be counted up and we'll award our 2024 WNNC Coca-Cola Player of the Year!

Congratulations to Newton-Conover QB Logan Adair for being voted the winner of the Week 10 WNNC Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Award!

Logan completed 78% of his passes and threw for 357 yards. Logan also added 52 yards rushing for 409 total yards with 4 total TDs this past Friday night.

Josh's performance on Friday helped the Blue Devils beat Bunker Hill. He hauled in 7 grabs for 149 yards and scored 2 total TDs while tallying 5 tackles defensively for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils will face Lincolnton at Maiden this Friday night in Week 10 with the conference title on the line.
