I just finished reading Alaska’s Wolf Man by Jim Rearden (highly recommend btw)

In the book, it says that it took a week for items to get from Seattle to Fairbanks by sternwheel steam boat via the Yukon River in the 1930s.

Tell me why it takes 10+ days via USPS in 2026 🤨

Before most were awake this morning, my company ran to pay our respects to those who went before us.

I don’t have a friend or family member buried here, but I share something with every one of them.

Each raised their right hand and chose to serve this country. They sacrificed time with their families, their own comfort, and in many cases their futures, in service to something greater than themselves.

They stood up when their nation called, and chose this place to be their final resting place, in the state I proudly call home and live in freely because of sacrifices like theirs.

Today we remember. 🇺🇸
