Day 5 of our Alaska cruise brought us to a new port for us — Icy Strait Point! 🏔️🐋

We really enjoyed this place! We took the gondola up to the top of the mountain, and even though it was a little fogged in, it was still a fun adventure and an amazing ride. We also saw tons of whales right from the walkway!

Add in some of the best donuts we’ve ever had, beautiful totem poles, a historic salmon cannery, and the rustic, natural feel of Icy Strait Point, and it made for a really cool day in Alaska! 🐋🍩🗻

**Alaska Cruise Day 4! 🏔️🦅🐋**

Day 4 aboard the NCL Bliss was definitely one of our favorites! We took a small boat excursion out to Dawes Glacier, enjoyed drinks with glacier ice, and saw everything from whales and bald eagles to sea sausages! 🐋🦅😂

Juneau was fantastic once again, and we had an absolutely amazing day. If you’re ever in Juneau, we highly recommend **The Hangar on the Wharf** for some of the best fish and chips! 🐟🍟

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dolly Parton. 💔

Growing up just a few minutes from where Dolly lived, her name was something we heard our entire lives—not just on national news, but right here in our local communities. We heard so many stories about the things she did for the people around her and how much she gave back to the area she called home.

When social media came along, it was always fun seeing the local Facebook groups light up with posts about Dolly or Carl Dean. You’d see someone posting that Carl was out mowing the grass, or that Dolly had been spotted shopping at a local boutique in one of the small communities around us. Those little moments always made her feel less like a celebrity and more like a familiar part of the community we grew up in.

We’ve also loved visiting places like Dollywood and even had the opportunity to stay in the Dolly Parton Suite at the hotel. Dolly has been such a huge part of our lives—not just because of her music and career, but because of the impact she made on the people and communities around her.

Dolly Parton truly left an incredible mark on Tennessee and on so many lives around the world. We feel incredibly fortunate to have grown up so close to her and to have experienced a small part of the world she helped make so special.

Rest in peace, Dolly. ❤️🦋
