40 years ago today Bam Bam Bigelow made his professional wrestling debut at the legendary Studio 54 nightclub in New York City!

The event was promoted by a young Paul Heyman, who had just taken over promoting shows at Studio 54. Heyman even convinced Jim Crockett to send “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair to the event so he could present him with the 1st Annual Press International Man of the Year Award.

Bam Bam, managed that night by his trainer Larry Sharpe, began a career that would make him one of wrestling’s most unique big men.

RIP Funker…you’re very very missed.

Two years ago today Terry Funk passed away at the age of 79.

One of the greatest of all time, the former NWA World Champion had been suffering from dementia. He is greatly missed.

Happy bday to Trent Seven!

Happy 44th Birthday to Ben Webb, better known to fans as Trent Seven!

A cornerstone of the UK wrestling scene, Trent made his name in promotions like Progress Wrestling before signing with WWE. As part of Moustache Mountain with Tyler Bate, he captured the NXT Tag Team Championships and became one of the most popular wrestlers in NXT UK. Since leaving WWE he has made brief appearances for TNA and AEW.

Happy 24th Birthday to Brooks Jensen!

The son of former WWE star Bull Buchanan, Jensen has been part of NXT since 2021, teaming with Josh Briggs. Together, they captured the NXT UK Tag Team Championships, becoming the final holders of those belts before the brand’s closure.

Recently, Jensen has branched out into a solo run in NXT.
