Mariatorget, Stockholm, Sweden. A beautiful little park in Södermalm is centered by this statue, Tors fiske (Thor's Fish).
Stockholm, Sweden. The most beautiful city I've ever been to. Walking around with a camera is like being a kid in a candy store.
German Church aka St. Gertrude's Church, Stockholm, Sweden. A tourist activity available in this city is a walking ghost tour that passes through this part of town.
Church of Our Saviour, Copenhagen, Denmark. The tower was closed that day because of windy conditions, but the inside of the church was beautiful as well.
St. Nicholas Church, Copenhagen, Denmark. A great city for architecture photography.
The Little Mermaid, Copenhagen, Denmark. Measuring only about 4ft tall, Copenhagen's "biggest" tourist attraction is also its smallest. She sits on a rock, right at water's edge and has quite a history of vandalism.
Central Train Station, Copenhagen, Denmark. This is the main hall, which serves as a huge marketplace with a currency exchange, restaurants, postal office, etc.
St. Alban's Church, Copenhagen, Denmark. AKA the English Church, it's located just outside the Kastellet, which is a star-shaped moat/fortress. This is also right around the corner from the famous Little Mermaid statue.
Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen, Dennark. At 173 years old, this is the second oldest amusement park in the world. It's located in the center of the city, covered in beautifully manicured gardens and is well worth the price of admission.
City Hall, Copenhagen, Denmark. The first two Copenhagen City Halls were burned down during the 18th century. The third was converted to the city court. This is the fourth and its clock tower is one of the most identifiable pieces of architecture in the city.
Axelborg, Copenhagen, Denmark. Located along the main shopping street of Vesterbrogade, this was originally built as a banking headquarters. Now it's the home for the Danish Agriculture and Food Council along with the beautiful restaurant Axelborg Bodega. Lots of cool architecture in this area.
Noma, Copenhagen, Denmark. Named Restaurant Magazine's #1 restaurant in the world four times. We had a 20 course meal here that changed the way I look at food forever.
Strøget, Copenhagen, Denmark. On a morning stroll through the car-free shopping area of Strøget. Denmark definitely got the memo about beer in appropriate glassware.
Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen, Denmark. One of my favorite places in the world to grab a beer.
Hermitage, Nashville, Tennessee. The tall grass soaked my clothes before the sun even came up. Worth it to grab a few shots like this.
Hermitage, Nashville, Tennessee. Woke up early to grab a few shots at sunrise. This was in our backyard. Hermitage is a beautiful neighborhood filled with yards like this.
Victoria Peak aka "The Peak", Hong Kong. If there's one thing you do in Hong Kong (we had a 6 hour layover), go through the Central District to find the tram up to The Peak. From here, you can see how small of a footprint and how much vertical space the city takes up.
Central District, Hong Kong. The business center of Hong Kong is a feast for the eyes and ears. We wandered these streets looking for a restaurant that was recommended to us. All we had was a napkin with three symbols on it. Took a while, but we found it.
Hoi An, Viet Nam. Lanterns illuminate the boats and storefronts along the canal. The perfect place to get lost and enjoy the beauty this city has to offer.
Hoi An, Viet Nam. A woman hand-makes lanterns near the ancient city. This area is full of colorful vendors like this.
Thu Bon River, Quang Nam Province, Viet Nam. A groom ( ) floats down the river on the way to his ceremony.
Thu Bon River, Quang Nam Province, Viet Nam. A fisherman is entertained by our merry banter as we float by on the boat.
Phi Phi Islands, Thailand. A long tail boat navigates the waters off the shore of Phuket. Some of the best snorkeling you can do is near Kho Phi Phi Don, which is the island where The Beach was filmed.
Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, Phuket, Thailand. A short, beautiful walk in the rainforest and you find all kinds of plants and animals you've never seen before. They even have a gibbon rehabilitation center.
Hoi An, Quang Nam Province, Viet Nam. A fisherman is entertained as we drift by in our boat.
Big Buddha, Phuket, Thailand. No reference for size, but this statue is 150ft tall and gives a 360 degree view of the island. Paid for entirely by donations.
Bamboo Island, Thailand. This tiny island paradise is for moments like these.
Mai Khao Beach, Phuket, Thailand. Just before sunset. The water felt like a heated pool.
Mai Khao Beach, Phuket. The last bit of sunlight illuminates the warm ocean a cool, purple-ish blue.
Mai Khao Beach, Phuket. Watching the sun set on our last day on the island. We watched every last minute of it.
Less than a mile from the overturned boat, we saw this tree that had also succumbed to the power of the ocean.
A captain waits with his overturned vessel, minutes away from the port in Phuket. This was on our way to a snorkeling tour of the Phi Phi Islands.
Big Buddha, Phuket, Thailand. About 150ft tall and located atop the Nakkerd Hills, you can see this statue from many parts of the island. It's been paid for entirely by donations.
Hoi An, Viet Nam. Lanterns illuminate the boats and storefronts along the canal. The perfect place to get lost and enjoy the beauty of this small town.
Galway Bay, Ireland. One of my favorite cities in Ireland and home to this huge, photogenic bay. Big fields of grass, walking paths, blue skies and plenty of Galway Hookers (boats) out on the water.
