#WeddingTipWednesday Say "Yes" to the dress! Wedding dress shopping can be an exciting, exhilarating and overwhelming process, all at the same time.

When choosing your attire, we always suggest with adding "comfortable" to your requirement list. You will be in your chosen outfit for multiple hours, taking photos/videos, eating, drinking and dancing.

Don't feel obligated to go with a dress; jumpsuits are also a fun option, that you can wear again!

If you do go the dress route, one of our biggest tips is for when you are getting the final alterations. If you are having a dress that bustles, make sure that at the final dress fitting you jump high, squat low, give hugs to your friends, dance, and generally make an excessive amount of movement.

Too many times we have seen delicate bustles snap and break, and the poor bride has to carry around the base of her dress all evening. We as planners are armed with pins and fabric tape for quick repair, but, it's never quite the same as the original bustle design.

You will have so much movement at your wedding that you and your dress will want to be prepared.

#WeddingTipWednesday Everyone loves the movies, why not star in your own?

One of the biggest debates that we see couples make is to have a wedding video. Most of the time, they usually rely on friends with current phone technology abilities.

As previously posted, we advise always using professionals. We are a huge advocate FOR booking video on your event. Your day passes in the blink of an eye, and while photos are the cake, video is the icing.

Music & audio have been proven to connect memories. 20+ years on, when there are special family members that may no longer be here, you can watch, listen, and remember them from your special day. We ourselves got married over 20 years ago and we still watch our video, to laugh at ourselves and relive the memories that we may have forgotten.

One of our favorite wedding videographers is @MemoryMachineFilms. They craft an unforgettable experience with their visual storytelling.

Everyone has a favorite recipe from a grandparent that has special meaning to them. Great meals are integral for a celebration and help add to your story and can reflect you as a couple.

When you are crafting your menu for the evening, consider how the food & beverages will enhance your event. Are there cultural dishes you would like to share with family & friends? Do you have a special cocktail that reflects your personality?

Food & beverage is another element that you can customize to present to your guests.

#WeddingTipWednesday Today's tip is sensitive in nature. Clients ask us this quite frequently; how should we handle gratuities? Firstly, double check your contract with your vendor, as some vendors, such as catering, will include that automatically. Other vendors, such as photography and videography, may not. Being in a service-based industry, gratuities are always appreciated and it's based on the level of service you received from that particular vendor. Don't be hesitant to approach the vendor and ask if it's already in their price.

There are so many variables involved in an event. Family emotions & tensions, traffic to the venue, weather challenges, last-minute changes, and more.

Yes, it may be cheaper to have a family member or friend take care of things for you, but, when you hire a professional, you can have the peace of mind that when those things DO go wrong, you have hired someone who can resolve the issue.

As professionals, vendors have endless tricks up their sleeves in coming up with solutions for any issue that arises. They are armed with an abundance of back-up supplies and knowledge from previous events that can be draw upon at a moment's notice. Leave the hard stuff up to professionals, they can handle it. That way, you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy your big day.

#WeddingTipWednesday Today's tip and vendor spotlight is on Photo Booths! A great addition to any party is a photo booth. There are so types to choose from, but any one you pick, it will be a bonus for your event. The Photo Booth can double as your Guest Book. Have your friends and family take the photos, print them out, and then place them in a scrapbook where they can sign their best wishes for you next to their photo. It's a great keepsake and means so much more than just names on a line in a standard guestbook. Have fun with it and really personalize with additions such as washing tape, stickers, paint pens, funny themed props, and more! Most companies will also give you a digital copy / library of photos of your guests so you won't miss a single shot. Our favorite Photo Booth vendor is Jack @PhotoManiaBooth. He has some great backgrounds and customization choices for your next event!

#WeddingTipWednesday Today's tip is from a deeper, internal point of view from your vendors.

We are small business owners, and while we love what we do, the doors of our business must remain open. You as clients have budgets, as do business owners. When you see your vendor price you may think, "that's too much", "that's so expensive" and more. Today, we wanted to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at the ownership of a small business and its' expenses.

From the price you pay for your service, there are so many things that get subtracted that you, as the client, may or may not be aware of.

Firstly, income taxes....followed by payroll taxes, workers compensation insurance, general liability insurance, office space/warehouse rent, auto expenses: gas, lease, insurance & maintenance, marketing budget, telephone service, internet & website fees, membership & association fees, office equipment & supplies, internal office time such as client meetings, creating and organizing client files, general running of the business, networking meetings, materials purchases (catering food & flowers) and potentially more depending on the type of vendor specific expenses.

So when you book your next vendor, just keep these in mind. We want to keep doing what we do, for you, so you can have the perfect event you dream of!
