Book 5 of E. Robert Dunn's Echelon's End, Chasing Infinity. The Pioneer Pod 4 is spaceborne, once again plunging into uncharted Space. Commander Capel Perezsire is temporarily taken over by an alien cerebral program to help restart a decimated planet. From the frying pan into the fire as the podship crew escape to be re-captured by the regenerated world's descendants to be used as genetic resource material for a cloned population. Free to navigate in Space, the podship enters into the Bedrosian Testing Range and must outwit dimensional munitions bent on their destruction for trespassing. Landing on a verdant planet for refit and recharge, the podship crew enjoy all that the virgin planet has to offer as they restock and repair the Pioneer 4, only to be caught separated as a forest fire consumes the landing site's Base Camp.

In E. Robert Dunn's Book 4: Sidereal Quest of Echelon's End, Pioneer Pod 4 had become a wanderer in the interstellar frontier, a hobo on a runabout with no foreseeable end. The newly born jungle and one of its inhabitants had claimed the life of a crew-member as the great, saucer‑shaped ship was nearing a launch point. After months of repair and preparation, the Pioneer Pod 4 was once again ready to join the glowing jewels on the black velvet pad of space. Earthquakes have begun to wrack the planet as tidal forces bombard it. One of the suns overhead is close to going supernova. Crack! Huge vents open across the desert planetscape’s stress points. Just as the refugees from the sundered planet of Aidennia prepare to venture out into the cold reaches of the void and try and find a place to call Home, their nemesis waits for them in Space.

Perilous spatial shock waves threaten the courageous Aidennians as they prepare for their planetary escape. As the restoration timeline ticks away, the Aidennians become consumed with unlocking the secret to mysterious transmissions that have suddenly begun to interrupt their repairs. Could the Taurons have found them?
