Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. This blog is my catharsis. For years, I pretended to be OK with what was going on with me. I put on a brave face, sucked it up, and buried my demons.
That did not go well.
Now, I present myself to you, raw, unfettered, and naked (metaphorically). I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in 2008, followed by Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Depression. I am struggling to come to terms with these demons. Instead of burying them within my subconscious, I am attacking them head on. I am owning my physical, mental, and spiritual limitations. I am, have been, and always will be a work in progress. I'm not where I want to be, but I'm getting there.
Born and raised in PA, I moved to San Diego, CA when I joined the Navy. Now, I'm a tech writer who is trapped in a well-paying but soul-crushing job. I'm just a middle-aged family guy who feels like he has something to say.
I am very proud to have graduated from Penn State in 1997 with a BA in English. Yes, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it.
My true passion is San Diego Comic-Con. For five days out of the year, I get to spend time with 129,999+ people who love the same things I do. When I'm there, I feel safe and relaxed enough to be myself. I would like to carry that feeling with me through the other 360 days of the year. Thus, my blog.
I'd love for you to check out my work with the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog, Candid Chronicle, YEW!, and Write the Wrong.
