I read Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and really relate to their finals words: “here’s to my love. O true apothecary! Thy drugs are sweet. Thus with this cupcake, death by chocolate.”

I have a love / hate relationship with someone giving me creative freedom on their order. This time it was “donut inspired”. So of course one needed to be inspired by the Simpson’s classic pink donut. Along with chocolate espresso (any excuse to use my espresso machine), Boston Creme, and a brown butter jelly ”donut”. Which is now my all time favorite.

There have been so many versions of trash bars / trash cookies but this is my favorite so far. These are blondies with funfetti sprinkles, white chocolate chips, a layer of raspberry, topped with leftover Simpson’s donut pink vanilla buttercream.

In case you’re curious, whatever leftovers don’t get snatched up by co-workers normally get turned into some kind of “trash”. which basically means I have a bunch of random things left over that arent enough to be able to make a “normal” recipe so they become a cookie, blondie, trail mix of some sort and I eat it by myself by the light of my refrigerator like the raccoon that I am.

Slowly but surely getting things off the ground. I have an embarrassing number of dessert pictures on my phone and no signs of slowing down. Trying to pick what to make next is torture, any one have ideas? I’m thinking of doing some sort of contest because who doesn’t love competition and free dessert?
