Novi Man Found Dead in Snowmobile Crash in Northern Michigan

A Novi man, Steven Davis, was found dead after a snowmobile crash in Carp Lake Township, Emmet County.

Davis was reported missing around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday by his snowmobiling group. Deputies located him at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Investigators believe he veered off Trail No. 7, though the cause remains under investigation.

Sheriff Matt Leirstein urged snowmobilers to prioritize safety, especially on unfamiliar trails, reminding visitors that

“safety should always be a top priority.”
