Retail Employee Raises Safety Concerns Over Ammo Theft in Ontario Store and The Store Policy Of Not Reporting To Authorities.

Concerns are being raised tonight after repeated thefts involving handgun ammunition were reported at a retail store in the Ontario area.

A reliable source with knowledge of store operations says a coordinated group has been entering the business on multiple weekends and stealing quantities of handgun ammunition, including 9-millimeter and .40-caliber rounds.

According to the source, the incidents were captured on store surveillance cameras. During a recent occurrence, the individuals also attempted to steal a handgun before leaving the store.

The source says employees are required to follow internal corporate loss-prevention procedures rather than immediately contacting law enforcement when thefts occur, even when firearm-related products are involved.

No official statement has been released regarding the reported thefts, and it is unclear whether an investigation is currently underway.

This remains a developing situation.

Nyssa Celebrates New Era at Bulldog Stadium with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

NYSSA, Ore. — On Friday, October 11, 2025, Nyssa High School and the greater Nyssa community gathered to celebrate a milestone in the school’s athletic and campus infrastructure: the ribbon cutting of the newly installed turf at Bulldog Stadium.

A Milestone for Bulldog Athletics

The event marked the official opening of the upgraded stadium surface, a project anticipated and supported by school leadership, parents, students, and community stakeholders. The new turf is meant to provide a safer, more durable playing surface for Bulldog athletes, reduce maintenance needs compared to natural grass, and broaden the usability of the field for events, practices, and community use throughout the year.

Ahead of the ribbon cutting, the Nyssa Boys Soccer team was scheduled to “break in” the turf during a match earlier on Thursday, making it one of the first teams to compete on the upgraded surface.

Community Comes Together

The ceremony drew a full audience of students, faculty, local officials, parents, alumni, and community supporters. The celebration underscored the importance of investing in school facilities and the pride the community shares in supporting its young people.

As part of the event, students were encouraged to wear royal blue to show school spirit and unity in acknowledgment of the new Bulldog Stadium turf.

Looking Ahead: Benefits & Aspirations

The upgraded field is expected to bring several benefits to Nyssa High School:

Enhanced safety and performance — modern turf reduces risk of uneven footing and wear issues.

Year-round use — the field will withstand adverse weather better and allow more consistent scheduling of practices, games, and community events.

Lower maintenance demands — over time, turf can reduce costs associated with watering, mowing, and patch repair.

Boosting school spirit and pride — an improved stadium sends a message about the value the community places on athletics and extracurricular life.

Moreover, the new facility is likely to support not just football and soccer, but also pep rallies, band performances, community gatherings, and other school events.

A Symbol of Investment in the Future

While the turf itself is a physical upgrade, the ribbon-cutting was also symbolic — a statement of optimism and growth. With the installation complete, Nyssa High School positions itself to better serve students, athletes, and the community for years to come.

As the first games on the turf are played and seasons progress, the new Bulldog Stadium turf is expected to become a source of pride and a backdrop for many memories to come.

Update: Recovery Efforts Mid-Air Collision

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Recovery operations continue following the tragic mid-air collision over the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Officials have confirmed that all 67 victims from American Eagle Flight 5342 and the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter have been recovered. Authorities have identified 66 of the 67 victims, with efforts still underway to confirm the identity of the last individual.

Investigation Insights:

Altitude Discrepancies: Initial findings from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) indicate that the CRJ-700 jet was flying at approximately 325 feet, while the Black Hawk helicopter was at around 300 feet at the time of impact. Both aircraft were above the designated flight ceiling of 200 feet, raising concerns about possible deviations from authorized airspace.

Flight Restrictions: In response, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has implemented temporary flight restrictions for helicopters operating near Reagan National Airport. Additionally, two runways remain closed as investigators continue their work.

Recovery Operations:
Salvage teams have begun retrieving aircraft wreckage from the river. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is leading the effort, using cranes to lift debris from the water. The operation is expected to take about a week as officials work meticulously to recover critical components for analysis.

Legal Developments:
Two employees of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority were arrested for allegedly leaking security footage of the crash. They face charges of computer trespass for unauthorized access and distribution of restricted material.

Community Impact:
The tragedy has sent shockwaves through communities nationwide, particularly in Wichita, Kansas, where many passengers had ties. Among those lost were world champion figure skaters Yevgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, highlighting the personal toll of this devastating event.

As the NTSB continues its comprehensive investigation, a preliminary report is expected in the coming weeks. Officials remain committed to uncovering the factors that led to the collision and implementing measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
