Neil Diamond had a warm surprise waiting for Hugh Jackman as the actor celebrates his latest film, Song Sung Blue, where he portrays one half of a Neil Diamond tribute duo, marking a moment that blends admiration, gratitude, and music history into one memorable exchange. Jackman, 57, shared the moment on Instagram, posting a video of himself opening a signed guitar from the legendary “Sweet Caroline” singer, a gift that visibly left him stunned as he pulled the instrument from its case, hugged it to his chest, and looked toward the camera in disbelief before asking, “Oh my. That’s from Neil Diamond?” and adding a heartfelt, “Thank you, Neil.” In his caption, Jackman described the guitar as “one of the most awesome gifts I’ve ever received,” saying he will “cherish [it] forever,” while also sharing a photo of Diamond, now 84, holding the guitar inscribed with the message, “Hugh, Keep rockin’! Over the past few months, Diamond and Jackman have formed a genuine friendship, with Jackman revealing at the film’s December premiere that he even spent the night at Diamond’s home in Colorado, complete with karaoke, recalling how Diamond had never previously granted full access to his music catalog for a film but embraced Mike and Claire’s story completely, prompting Jackman to jokingly invite himself over for tea, an invitation that quickly turned into an overnight stay.
