Roots & Revival Growing and sharing our little homestead while sharing natural, homemade products that we use and love! I also love to educate and inform, so I am an open book.

Anyone who knows me, knows my passion for filling my home with the cleanest and most natural ingredients possible. This passion first formed out of necessity when learning about our daughter’s health issues as a baby. Cleaning up the ingredients going in and on our bodies was the first place I started, as I learned how much of an impact it can have on our immune system and how quickly our body absorbs environmental toxins. We saw such a huge improvement when we cleaned up the ingredients in our home, that it has become a lifelong passion. From that passion, formed many hobbies, and now I have a burning desire to share the knowledge and products with others, in hopes it impacts them at even a fraction of the rate that it has us. All products are handmade in small batches and are only products that I use and am comfortable having in my home and on my family. I hope to take some of the guess work out of it for others and offer clean and safe products that you can trust. I love to discuss or help answer any questions you may have. I don’t have all the answers, but I have acquired many resources over the years that I would be more than happy to share and help you find the answers you’re looking for. As mentioned, I will only be offering products that I trust, make and use myself (with my family), so the product catalog will be slow to grow and the inventory will be small. But all products will be tried and true. :) So please bear with me as we grow. We appreciate your support!

I’ve got the big 50 gallon waterer, I’ve got the duck pool, I’ve got the chicken cooling station. But nope, this gal is a sucker for fresh water, even if her whole pool was cleaned and refilled right before this!

I try to keep this little red tub filled w fresh water in the shade so they don’t have to get out in the sun to get a drink and so the water stays cool (and the idea was HOPEFULLY cleaner than the pools). This thing is small enough that I can easily rinse and refill it as it gets warm or dirty without wasting gallons of water. She really likes to make me put my money where my mouth is because BOTH times I’ve rinsed and refilled today, she has immediately gotten in and pooped! 💩 😐 She’s lucky she’s cute!

One of the best ways to help your chickens in the heat is to give them a cooling station! Chickens cool themselves through their feet. A shallow pool with some stones that they can stand on is cheap, easy and effective. Notice the chickens not on the stones all have open beaks (a sign that they are hot). The one in the water doesn’t! 🥰 I do this every year. They’ll all slowly start to figure it out and pile in there!

This Hen isn’t their mama and she wasn’t even broody when we got them. As a matter of fact, she hadn’t even laid an egg since the big c**n attack back in the beginning of June. She got pretty banged up and was lucky to be alive. But within a week of getting these little cuties a few weeks ago, she was perked back up, adopted them AND she started laying again. Baby love is healing, even beyond the human species. 🥰
