The last pitch in Oakland was thrown. I’ve moved forward so the A’s aren’t my whole identity anymore, but looking back on it… it still hurts.

The Oakland Ballers were created because our former team was ripped away from us. A win tonight would mean most to the players on the field, the staff (a lot of which lost their jobs at the Oakland Coliseum), and most importantly the fans.
The focus tonight isn’t about who is and/or isn’t covering the game tonight. It’s not about what we lost, but about who we are.

The main and only focus is that tonight in their second season the .ballers have a chance at making history tonight to bring back a championship for the people of Oakland and to possibly (if it hasn’t already) fill a hole in our hearts.
Regardless of the outcome I’m proud of this team and the people who came together to make/give something to the people who were hurt the most… the fans.

I never was a fan of basketball or the WNBA. But that was before the Golden State Valkyries became a team.
Wanted to watch something that my girlfriend and I would enjoy watching together and what better way then starting from the very beginning. This summer felt like a movie and as the months went by I found myself loving this team more and more. Last night was definitely heartbreaking especially losing by one point but I could not be more proud of the women who played their hearts out. Couldn’t ask for a better inaugural season and glad to have been apart of it from day one.

Nathaly and I cannot wait to be back at Ballhala next year that we have officially become season ticket holders for 2026!
