Wilson is a recording artist and songwriter from the East Bay Area. She has been writing since she was thirteen and performing since she was three years old. She studied Theatre Arts at San Francisco State University and Screenwriting and Editing at the Academy of Art University. She also has a Vocational Certificate in Recording Arts at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA. specializing in

Music Business/Industry Studies and is a member of ASCAP. After 15 years of workshopping songs and writing a catalog; Chanell partnered with an indie Record label and released her debut single “Draw Near to Me”. In 2021; she independently released her EP Project “Black Heart on the Table Vol 1: A Warrior’s Lament”- a musical and spoken word project about mental health awareness, conditional love, and how it impacts the human heart. She has curated a visual Theatrical emotion picture for the Black Heart on the Table Short EP project on Social Media. Currently, Wilson is releasing her latest single on Valentine’s Day 2024 from her upcoming Album project (to be released later this year) entitled “Ride it ‘til” a song about choosing to love after the honeymoon wears off and deals with the facets of love and her second single "Heartbreaker, Trick & a Game" (April 1, 2024) a song about trauma bonds, overcoming transactional love, & valuing oneself. She will release her third single "No Broken Love" this summer. Chanell believes that creativity and love can heal this world and she is determined to do just that!

So, when I first embarked on releasing my music that had been growing in my external hard drive my former producer said Chanell it is about the body of work you are creating.
You are already batting a 1000 in songwriting, this is about your growth and creating a body of creative work that expands time.

I get very excited with each release because I am able to see my refining and growth as a songwriter and it gets me closer to my artistic goals. With the Aura & Orbit comes this introductory compilation called "The Aura & Orbit Compilation".

I am an 80s baby and a 90s teenager so I grew up on Compilation projects sold out of artist and rappers trunks. I loved getting those samplers at concerts from or or Street Teams and I would play those mixtapes, sampler, compilations out and go to Tower, Rasputin's, Amoeba or any wrekca stow and buy the tape or cd and get my poster. A compilation from my favorite label was and still is a big deal....(I digress)

I knew was today and I was like I want to release a compilation in anticipation for my Album and 2nd project called Black Heart on the Table Vol 2: . There is more to that title but my producer and I are going to announce that later as the rest of the songs are recorded.

Please download my project today and jump in...this is a celebration of my body of work and releases so far...some of these songs were written in the 90s and others more recently.

This is the official page for Author & Artist Chanell J. Wilson. Chanell J. Wilson has been writing songs, poetry, and short stories since the age of thirteen. Pulling from her shared experiences of serving as a clergy minister and certified aid in mental health and conflict management and just being a pure lover of social gathering, story telling and the authentic connections between souls; Chanell has become a student of learning human behavior for the purposes of understanding and communicating better. A Theatre Arts Major, a Recording Artist and an animated soul at heart, Chanell’s stories are written from the perspective of learning the depths of the character and resolving human conditioning versus just telling a salacious story that entertains. She believes: “if we can seek to understand each other better; than we as a collective can get humanity right.”
